Pokemon Showdown Prime Nerd Cup
Welcome to the Prime Nerd Cup. You and other nerds are fighting for little more than bragging rights, but hey; bragging rights are bragging rights. As far as showdown accounts go, you can use your IGN, or real name, prefaced with “PNC” to denote your competing status. The rules are down below, and once there are enough competitors, we’ll get the battle for nerdy glory started. Be sure to check the active Smogon clauses way below.
Good luck to all competitors!
How to join:
-Message the GM requesting to join
-Check the draft lists to see what drafts are available
-Draft according to the rules below
-Send challenges to others and check back for organized brackets
-The first through fifth players will have ranks
-Anytime one person beats all five of them consecutively, the draft resets
-6v6 singles battle format
-No team in battle can contain 3 mons from the same tier
-The teams are to all be registered as “Anything Goes” tier in showdown, but still must adhere to the rules stated here
-The draft will be all of the coaches picking 3 mons from OU, UU, RU, and NU in a snake format (down the list and back up)
-Each team gets one Mega evolution and can only use that mega for the duration of the season
-All mons will be at lvl 50
-Different forms are considered different Mons (e.g. Rotom wash and Rotom mow are different mons.) This does NOT include megas
-Hoopa and Hoopa-U are banned
-Mega Rayquaza is banned
-The 4 teams with the best win/loss ratio will go into a playoff tournament for the championship
-All battles will be over Pokemon Showdown, but we’ll decide when and how often once we get all the coaches
-Trading is allowed between coaches, but only through the same tier (ex: OU mon for OU mon)
-PU/LC/NFE Clause: During the draft, you may opt out of one Pokemon per tier for a Pokemon from the PU/LC/NFE tier
-Mega Clause: If your desired mega is in Ubers, but the base mon isn’t, it can still be used
-The Mega Clause does NOT apply to Mega Kangaskhan
-It should be noted Pokemon in the BL tiers have been moved up to the tier above (e.g. Sceptile, a BL3 mon has been moved up to RU)
-Any infringement of the rules will result in you being dropped from the tournament as well as being chastised by your friends and being called a “Stinky Cheaty Dumbface” and “Spinnaker”
